WELCOME TO VFW POST 632 / RION-BOWMAN POST

No One Does More for Veterans
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

Announcements

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is proud to celebrate our nation’s African American service members, veterans and their families throughout the month of February, National Black History Month.

VFW Post 632 is very proud of the effort put forth by participating students from Harrisonburg City Schools and Rockingham County Schools in our 2022-23 Essay Contest. Our Voice of Democracy winner is Jordan Passarelli from Harrisonburg High School and Jordan Horneber from Montevideo Middle School.

  • The Voice of Democracy (open to students grades 9-12) is a 3-5-minute essay, and the 2022-2023 theme is "America: Why is the Veteran Important?” The Patriot’s Pen essay contest (open to students in grades 6-8) encourages young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting a 300- to 400-word essay, expressing their views based on the patriotic theme: "My Pledge to Our Veterans."

Raffle Calendar drawings are held each Thursday for the period Friday thru Thursday.  Results will be posted here.
